DMD Announcement
Introducing Do Music Differently: Old Rules. New Choices.
The music industry is full of rules.
Rules about how you’re supposed to build a career. How you’re supposed to make money. How much you’re supposed to sacrifice. Who you need on your team. What success should look like. And sometimes, even who you need to become to achieve it.
But what happens when those rules stop working?
I’m excited to announce the launch of Do Music Differently, my new weekly radio and television show airing Thursdays at 4 PM Eastern on W4WN Radio and Talk 4 TV. Our first episode should be September 17th.

What Is Do Music Differently?
Do Music Differently is a music business show for music professionals, women in music, and creative entrepreneurs who want to build sustainable, prosperous careers without automatically accepting every rule the industry has handed them.
Each week, I’ll talk with artists, entrepreneurs, and music industry professionals about the rules they inherited, where those ideas came from, what happened when the rules stopped serving them, and what they chose to do instead.
We’ll explore conversations around:
Money and earning your worth
Career growth and sustainability
Mindset and self-doubt
Marketing and audience building
Collaboration and building the right team
Burnout and protecting your creativity
New income opportunities
Success, identity, and what you actually want your music career to look like
Because there isn’t one right way to have a successful career in music.
Some Rules Still Work. Some Need More Context. And Some Need to Go.
You’ve probably heard a few of these:
You have to struggle to make it in music.
If you’re independent, you have to do everything yourself.
You need a label.
You have to tour.
You need to be everywhere online.
If you were really talented, someone would have discovered you by now.
But are those facts?
Or are they simply rules we’ve repeated for so long that we stopped questioning them?
That’s what this show is about.
Not throwing out every piece of music industry advice.
Not replacing one rigid set of rules with another.
Instead, we’re going to question the rule, understand the context behind it, and decide what actually makes sense for the career and life you want to build.
I Want You to Help Shape the Conversation
This isn’t meant to be a conversation that only happens between me and my guests.
I want to know what you have been hearing.
What music industry rule has made you question yourself?
What advice have you followed even though something about it never quite felt right?
What rule would you like to hear artists and industry professionals challenge, debate, or rewrite on the show?
Your question might become the starting point for a future episode.
Because your next breakthrough might not come from learning one more thing you should be doing.
It might start with questioning a rule you never agreed to in the first place.

Old rules. New choices.
And I can’t wait to hear which rules you’re ready to rewrite.
