Jacksonville Creatives Launch Survey to Strengthen the City’s Entertainment Scene

Jacksonville, FL — A recent FinanceBuzz study dealt Jacksonville an unflattering title, ranking it as the most boring city in America with a low “excitement score” of just 14.3 out of 100. The headline sparked frustration among residents and inspired action from a team of six local industry professionals determined to change the narrative.

This collaborative team of musicians, creative professionals, and specialized coaches is launching a public survey to discover what residents want from their local entertainment scene.

"Northeast Florida is full of talent, yet there are not enough stages to showcase it," said music business manager, Sandy Keller. “To solve this, we may need to get more creative with our spaces, especially in the greater Jacksonville area.”

The group’s survey aims to uncover both what will get residents out of the house and what industry professionals need to build a thriving entertainment culture. "We’re focused on connecting the right people with the right opportunities to create the experiences Jacksonville wants”, added project lead Heidi Aderman.

As a local performing musician and active business coach, Justin M. Bullock noted, “There is a tremendous amount of potential for Jacksonville to become a leading destination for music, arts, and cultural connection. In order to thrive, we need both platforms for artists and an engaged public eager to experience what those performers have to offer.”

The survey will remain open through the end of August, and residents of Jacksonville and surrounding communities are encouraged to participate.
